How to Activate UAN

To activate your UAN, you need to follow these steps:
- Visit the EPFO's UAN member portal at https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/
- Click on the 'Activate UAN' option present at the bottom of the page.
- Enter your UAN, mobile number, and PF member ID, which can be obtained from your employer.
- Click on the 'Get Authorization PIN' button to receive an OTP on your registered mobile number.
- Enter the OTP received on your mobile number and click on the 'Validate OTP and Activate UAN' button.
- Create a new password for your UAN account and click on the 'Submit' button.
- Your UAN will be activated, and you will be redirected to the UAN dashboard.
Note: It is important to ensure that your mobile number is registered with your employer and linked to your UAN, as OTP verification is mandatory for activating your UAN. If your mobile number is not linked to your UAN, you need to contact your employer to get it updated.
- Visit the EPFO's UAN member portal at https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/
- Click on the 'Forgot Password' option present below the 'Sign In' button.
- Enter your UAN and the captcha code displayed on the screen, and click on the 'Verify' button.
- On the next screen, enter your registered mobile number and click on the 'Get OTP' button.
- Enter the OTP received on your mobile number and click on the 'Verify OTP' button.
- On the next screen, you will be asked to create a new password for your UAN account.
- Enter the new password twice and click on the 'Submit' button.
Once you have successfully reset your UAN password, you can log in to your account using your UAN and the new password.
HOW TO CHECK YOUR EPF BALANCE
Visit the official website of the Employees' Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) at https://passbook.epfindia.gov.in/MemberPassBook/Login
Click on the "For Employees" option from the main menu.
Under the "Services" section, select the "Member Passbook" option.
You will be redirected to a new page, where you need to enter your Universal Account Number (UAN) and password.
After logging in, you will be able to view your PF passbook, which will display your current PF balance, as well as your previous contributions and withdrawals.
Alternatively, you can also check your PF balance through the UMANG (Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance) app or by sending an SMS to 7738299899 from your registered mobile number with EPFO.
